The 21 Pacific Rim members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) are committed to strengthening human resources development (HRD) to raise the productive contribution of people for work and society. The APEC Human Resources Development Wiki supports the APEC Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG), which consists of the Capacity Building Network (CBN), Education Network (EDNET), and Labour and Social Protection Network (LSPN) in three ways: 

• Sharing knowledge of HRD policies and practices along with an evidence of their effectiveness;
• Knowledge development to extend the HRD evidence base; and  
• Networking to facilitate knowledge sharing and development through international communities of practice around major HRD topics

• The 5th APEC Education Ministerial Meeting will be held May 21-23 in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea.  Under the theme of "Future Challenges And Educational Responses: Fostering Global, Innovative, and Cooperative Education", Education Ministers from 21 APEC member economies will gather together to garner wisdom in nurturing talents in the 21st century.
• The APEC Symposium on Human Capital Policies for Green Growth and Employment met in Washington, DC, United States on 20-21 March 2012 to discuss how to establish sustainable approaches as the next frontier for economic development in APEC
