International Education Week (IEW) 2010 is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This year's theme, International Education: Striving for a Sustainable Future, along with this wiki, focus on research-based information for the 21st century learner.

In coordination with their affiliates in APEC member economies, Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Inc. (TESOL) created a set of teaching tips that address the needs of the  21st Century Business English Learner. The teaching tips emphasize the skills necessary for success in a multinational business culture, including cross-cultural communication, language skills, leadership, diplomacy, and team building. Additional tips consider sustainable growth (green business), while others identify obstacles and opportunities for women. These tips help learners deal with the complexities of the global marketplace by focusing on core competencies, such as working as part of a team, solving problems, showing initiative, and asking questions.
